Jane Gilchrist
She is an American who has lived in Canada since1976. She earned an MA in Creative Writing from State University of Iowa, and her thesis was an original novel supervised by Philip Roth. Jane spent nine years teaching high school English and ESL. She has also been a speech coach, editor, translator and actor. She has won awards for her plays, including Wired In (1987), The Rosebush War (1996), Ratamacue (1989), Pertelote and Elizabeth (1989), Cat and Moonbeam (1996), Hammer and Tongs (1999), and The Kitsch Woman (2003). She is currently working on Eyeballs, a play about political chicanery.
